Coach Registration

UPDATE March 19, 2022: All coaches and prospective coaches, please wait until contacted by your Age Group Coordinator or GHSC Assistant Registrar Robin Ohara, before you register as a coach. The AGC must approve all coaches before registration. Coach Registration for the 2023-2024 seasons begins June 1.

It is important to note that when registering as a coach, you will have the same format as if you were registering as a player. You must submit a photo, sign the forms and proceed to checkout, to submit your application. It is not necessary to choose an age group (select 0), submit a birth certificate or fill out an emergency contact, but if you do not, the system may not let you move forward. All generic information must be complete to submit the application.

The process to register as a coach for GHSC/US Club is outlined below. GHSC follows US Club Soccer’s policy regarding coach/staff registration. The entire process has four steps and takes about 2 hours to complete, but it is all done on-line and the process can be paused. GHSC and US Club take the safety of our players very seriously and trust you understand that this level of detail is in the best interest of the players. Once you have successfully completed this process and have been registered, your status is good for two years. However, every coach/staff must complete a SafeSport Refresher every year. GHSC thanks you for your time and commitment.

Pursuant to CA AB506, GHSC requires all board members and team coaches/staff to pass a Live Scan. GHSC pays for this process, but only if you go to Capital Live Scan on Broadway. We will also hold at least 2 mobile Live Scan events for team coaches/staff at a location in the Pocket/Greenhaven neighborhood. You must undergo and pass this Live Scan even if you have been passed/cleared by another organization’s Live Scan process. Either your AGC or Robin Ohara will email you the forms that you must take to Capital Live Scan. You may not take the field without a passed/cleared Live Scan.

US Club’s following requirements are listed and will appear on your GotSport account on the DASHBOARD tab for easy access to complete these tasks. These will be visible once your Age Group Coordinator (AGC)/Registrar adds you as the role of Coach. The instruction links provide more detail and screenshots on how to apply and submit if you are having trouble completing any task.

1. Register with GotSport as a Coach: Please have a digital photo ready to upload a headshot of you facing forward without a hat or sunglasses. Once you register as a coach you will be able to find all the US Club requirements on your DASHBOARD tab. Once you have registered, the GHSC registrar will send you an email that will enable you to complete the remaining steps in the process. Included in the email will be a coupon code to be used to pay for the background check.You cannot move forward without this email.  Click here to register.

2. SafeSport Training: Log into GotSport account and click on DASHBOARD tab. Click here for instructions

3. Background Screening: Log into GotSport account, click on DASHBOARD tab. There are two steps to submit your background screening. Click here for instructions.

a. At the end of the first step you will enter the code you received from your AGC.

b. You will then receive an email from JDP and US Club Soccer with a link to complete the final background check process.

You Are Not Done Until You Have Clicked On The Link In The Email And Submitted The Final Background Check.

IMPORTANT: Within a few days of completing the background screening, you will receive an email indicating your clearance status. Forward that email to your AGC. GHSC will only pay for the head coach and one assistant coach per team. Any unauthorized use of the code, the applicant will be expected to reimburse the club the $26.85 fee.
