The City Parks Department and GHSC continue to work together to keep the fields we permit in the best condition possible. GHSC contracts for additional mowing, rodent abatement and off season field enhancements, including aerations, seeding, fertilizing and weed abatement.
School District Facilities are more challenging, due to long term issues regarding cost, upkeep and maintenance. GHSC has offered resources in the past, but the school district with their union requirements, have been unwilling to let us use outside contractors to take care of the fields. As such, GHSC no longer utilizes school fields.
NET / FLAG COORDINATOR LOCATIONS: Coming in August
For all field locations, players, parents and coaches must be respectful of the immediate neighbors. Please take care to not block driveways or crosswalks when parking. Please make sure that all trash is picked up after each game and practice. Our playing permits may be placed in jeopardy if there are recurring problems such as speeding through the neighborhoods, blocking driveways, running over grass piles, using the fences, or bushes, as restrooms, etc. Also, please do not allow players to climb on goal posts.
During rainy weather, please check the City of Sacramento Field Status Line at 916-808-2336. The phone lines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If the status line or the website states that the fields are closed, all practices and/or GHSC home games are to be cancelled. This applies to all park fields. Failure to abide by the status line can result in the loss of playing permits.
For away games outside of the City of Sacramento purview, head coaches are responsible for contacting the opposing coach or club to see if the game is cancelled or not.
If there are any issues during your practices and games at any City Park (e.g. sprinklers on), please call the City operator at 311, or use the 311 App. If there is an emergency at any of the fields, call 911 for Sac PD. For less emergent situations, such as another organization using fields during GHSC permitted times, call the City Operator at 311.
GHSC places portable restrooms at all fields where there is no permanent bathroom.
During the season, coaches and parents can help GHSC by taking the time before every practice to walk the field and note unsafe areas such as major divots and holes, and contact the Maintenance Director to report unsafe conditions. Every effort will be made to respond in a timely fashion.
